Window cords are a possible strangulation hazard to young children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says that corded window coverings are one of the top 5 hidden hazards in homes. If your window coverings have exposed or dangling cords, then you should retrofit or replace them with a safer alternative. Safety experts advise using only cordless window coverings in homes with young children.
